Caroline de Champs, a double activity in the service of the agricultural transition

You have a double profile as a farm manager and professional coach in the service of transition, do you think that being a woman is an asset in your situation?

Being a woman is perhaps a particularity in this sector, although less and less so in reality! Let's say that many women in the agricultural sector are already doubly active: they are often mothers and farmers!

My particularity is the combination of my profile as a farm manager and professional coach. Associating agriculture and coaching is daring and is not yet widely accepted, but my experiences have enabled me to identify the need for support in this sector and my personal experience, my life path, has given me the chance to identify what was important to me, what made me deploy myself, what gave me energy. And it is the work on the Human Being, its accompaniment and that in the service of the living which gives me impetus!

To make grow and deploy the potential of each actor of the Agri/Agro sector in the service of our Earth and Humanity is my raison d'être.

Our Earth and our Men have a potential at the service of Humanity, let's listen to it, make it emerge, accompany it and make it shine for eternity.

Being a woman has eventually been an asset to initiate this click in me. I notice that I am more in tune with myself (my emotions, my body's messages or observing my behaviors) than all the men around me in the sector. But this is very personal!

As a coach, are you noticing a resurgence of women in the agricultural sector?

It is rather my former experiences that allow me to identify that there is indeed an upsurge of women in the agricultural sector. Today, as a coach, what I notice is that I don't have more women than men who ask me to coach them. However, several of the men I coach have been encouraged by their wives to initiate this coaching.

What are their difficulties, are there any recurring issues?

The main difficulties we are working on today in coaching with women farm managers revolve around the following topics

• Pace of life, work-life balance, family management
• Take your place, assert yourself
• Working in collaboration, co-construction, working as a couple

For some, coaching touches on even deeper issues such as identity.
